Use what you have

Sometimes we like to change our surroundings, we like to see new things in our home. But it is not always we have money for buying all what we want. Other times we have so many things that we do not know what to do with or we have some things that we would like to keep and charise. In any part of life when you would like to change something the best advice is to do what you can with what you have where you are. The same goes for when you want to decorate your home without money.

Combining these I will give you some tips on how to redeco your home with some of the things you might already have.

All the things in this posting has something to do with the shoe brand Lola Ramona. It is a coincidence but I think it is funny that a shoe brand can do much more than being shoes.

This painting from my father is pending with a leather lace forom a pair of winter boots. The boots have done their purpose but the xtra laces was so new that I could not get my self to throw them out. And now they are in perfect use on the wall.

The shoe is a sample from Lola Ramona that never went into production. At the Lola Ramona office the shoes that had no partner were used as door stoppers. In my house the windows are very big, so this shoe here is both a window stopper and a pen and other stuff keeper.

This little bag is made out of the top of a pair of long Lola Boots that I found was too long for my legs. The bottom has just been put together in the wholes with a silk thread.

And this is a little coffee container which I just added tons of stickers from Lola Ramona. It is 3 years since I worked there, but the stickers are still lasting, and now I can watch nice stickers everyday instead of only looking at them when cleaning papers and stuff in the drawers…

If you have nice tips on how to recycle things into other things let me hear from you =)

It takes time to grow

and time will help you by. Sometimes you do not even recognize that you did go beyond your goal.

When I was a little girl my biggest wish was to become just as tall as my brown wardrobe. Everyday for a long time I stood next to my wardrobe  measuring whether I had reached it or not. I was really looking forward to the day I was just as tall.

Then time pasted by and suddenly I was taller than the wardrobe. I got a little sad, because then I could not celebrate the moment in which we – me and the wardrobe – was equally tall.

It was later on in my life that I recognized the meaning of remembering this story. Embracing the moments every day. This will for sure make you grow.

How to Grow and How to Live your Life

Do you know people for whom life is always succesful? Of course they have bad periods as well but they know how to focus on the good things and put energy into the actions that make life go on.

It takes time to learn how to live your life, and it is difficult to grow in one day. It is a process in which you are the boss and you are in charge of what has to happen. My advice to you is : Do not push growth; remove the factors limiting it.

My focus this month is to give away all my advices for how to grow and how to live your life.

Stay tuned =)=)

Remember to Grow

Words written on the buildings in the city is common also in CPH. One day many years ago I fell over this little Danish tag saying “remember to grow”.

Which definetely is correct. It is important to learn new things and do new things if not every day, then once in a while. You can grow a little day by day by challenging yourself by choosing another road to work, talking to people you might not are used to talk to. You could also wear another outfit that usual. Put a hat on that normally is only used for parties or wear that red lipstick you bought two years ago. Maybe you like it and start incorporating talking to strangers and wearing hat everyday.

No matter what it is as always up to you create your challenges, to set your limitations and to implement in your daily routine the things that make you smile.

Live Your Life

What has Live Your Life to do with fashion?

Well; fashion makes you live your life; if you like fashion. I do like fashion and a lot of its attributes, but I also know that if you do not like fashion then it is something else that makes you live your life. Your job, your school, your family, sports or a fourth thing. It is not necessarily something that you buy that makes you happy. Because buying things only give a feeling of short satisfaction. It is the experiences you make in life that create the feeling of long satisfaction, and it is up to you to create these experiences with the things that make you smile.

If you do not know what makes you live your life; then go back in your memory and think about the things that once made you smile.

Another tip is to do something about the things that does not make you smile.

I get so much inspiration to be happy everyday from this poster made from a person who just knows about being happy and satisfied: Karin Krogh. A Danish businesswoman with the highest expertise in how to make your audience listen and act upon your performance. Furthermore in collaboration with an artist she created the Happiness Model. Use it everyday. It is a piece 4 love in your life.

A pair Street show summer 2012

The exclusive accessory shop Apair presented their new arrived items with a streetshow in front of the shop at Ny Østergade. DJ Flip hosted the music which perfectly fitted the theme of the catwalk.

Red and black

were prominent colors as well as big  rings and big bracelets were really highlighted on the models. Raw, cool and really Apair-like. Clutches in real croco and pyton were the finishing touch.  Butterflies and cool bags was to be found among the items for men. As a lady I really has to catch up on looking more on the men models walking down the catwalk.

I’ll promise to go get a closer look on the items from Apair one day in the near future.

Elsa Adams – Danish Design on Another Level

Ella Adams SS13 Show Copenhagen Fashion Week 2012

Quality, respect for tradition and raw boheme are what the show from Ella Adams provided the audience at the Royal Theater Ophelia situated at he harbour in Copenhagen. Marvelous location for earth colours mixed with metalic and nice big accessories of stone, pearls and silver. Rarely do we Danish people see our designers be exotic, raw and romantic at the same time. Elsa Adams knows how to combine the connotations of the words in a Danish context.

The collection reflected a world of power and love created by the tight silhouetes, the featured blondes and long assymetric sleeves again supported by the well fitted accessories of big pearls and stones.

Metallic features on sleeves and skirts highlights the rawness of the collection but still the warm colours and the soft look of the materials created this romantic atmosphere in the collection.

A big inpsiration for next years summer outfit is the silver like hotpants with blondes and the silhouet jackets.

This is Elsa Adams third collection which make the brand very new. But along with good quality and well performed design often comes a big amount of success. We wish for the best.

Fashion Weak

I’m a Girl from Copenhagen and I’m a Fashion Weak

I admit it. I’m the type of person who melts for fashion items. Some people think I’m crazy when I with a big smile on my face stop them and ask them where they bought their shirt or if I on bike quick am able tell them how good they look with these shoes. Imagine the tight up business guy’s face when I tell him: ”sorry, don’t get scared sir, I’m a fashion weak and I really love your bag, can I have a closer look ?=)”

This is happening a few times a year that I surprise people in CPH because they have some special feature of accessory or style and this is why I always look forward to Copenhagen Fashion Week.

It is such a pleisure as a Copenhagen citizen to enjoy the living moments of the fashion week when good looking models, busy fotografers and original designers are providing new vibes to the central city. And not to mention all us bloggers. One big creative mixture of beauty.

During Fashion Week everything is so much more colorfull and full of life that I could scream out from each of Copenhagen’s many towers: ”You all look amazing – I love you all – I’m a fashion weak,”

With fashion Love and weak knees
